Fake news is a global crisis

But governments can not contain fake news alone. Large corporations are beginning to regulate the sharing of fake news on their platforms. Notably, Facebook has recently suspended 30,000 suspected bot accounts that were attempting to upend fair elections in France.

Germany is also a target, but an Oxford Institute study found that Germans out perform Americans at identifying fake news. Germans share just 1 piece of fake news for every 4 pieces of real news they share. Compare to Michiganders, who in November 2016 shared 1 piece of fake news for every 1 piece of real news.
