So they shifted tactics to turning Americans against each other and tearing down trust to democratic institutions.

Tens of millions of Americans read Russian content and spread its misinformation about American elections and COVID every day. Russian sites and surrogates have worked overtime deflecting attention and blaming the US for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
China has more people working to shape what Americans see online than are employed by America’s largest company, Walmart. And it has used economic bribes and threats to shape Hollywood, American corporate behavior, and academia.
The Iranians have successfully impersonated America’s most radical domestic extremists like the Proud Boys to intimidate voters and spread anger and fear.
